A Fortnight of Shoujo Challenge: Day 2

Heyyo minna, It’s Ryuuji Tatsuya!
Welcome to the second post of the ‘A Fortnight of Shoujo Challenge!’ Today’s post is regarding one habit that I recently adopted, and so far I haven’t been disappointed. Yup, I’m talking about reading manga; and today’s post is concerned with Shoujo Mangas!

FAVORITE SHOUJO MANGA:

Except one or two manga which were of psychological and/or smut genre, all the others that I have read so far were Shoujo (Because why not?). Again, it’s hard to pick only one manga out of all these amazing series, so of course, I’m gonna select two for this post too! (Why? Because I can)

Horimiya

As I said before, this was the first manga that was ever recommended to me, so of course, I had high hopes for it (Also because le Manga Goddess was the one to recommend it); and I will not be lying when I say that I was not disappointed. The story is a series of short but cute every day events faced by Hori and Miyamura; it portrays how the duo, along with their group of friends, spends their high school life while developing their own romantic feelings for each other in a steady manner. Horimiya is a kind of manga which can not only make you laugh out loud, but also melt your heart by showing the love between the main couple. If you have the habit of binge watching/reading like me, then this manga will surely be a nice one to spend one day to! However, the moment you realise that you will have to wait for a month to get the next chapter, it will be really painful.

When I finished reading until the latest chapter of Dome x Kano, I was really worried that maybe I won’t be able to switch into another story mode; since that series had a really deep impact on me. This manga took up the challenge, and needless to say, came out victorious! The story is about XXXX and his childhood friend Mamiya. While all this while Mamiya was his best friend-cum-rival, due to some chain of events he was now emerged into a high school girl. The story shows how XXXX deals with his sudden girl best friend, while understanding the new feelings he had for her now. Guys, let’s admit it, we all have wondered at some point of our life that if only our best friend were a girl, maybe we could have been a great couple. It’s because of this thought that reading this manga was really fun and heart touching. It has a little bit of ecchi element to it, but still this series, if given a chance, might just be one of the best reads of your life! (Note: When the manga ends, it’s really hard to not feel bad about finishing it)

Wew~ With that, another post of this challenge comes to an end. I hope you guys had as much fun reading it, as I had while writing it. Be sure to tell me what you would have answered to this question, in the comments below! Until my next post, I hope you guys have a great time and as always, thanks for reading!

Psst! Did you missed the other posts? Don’t worry…

  1. Yes definitely Horimiya!!!
It doesn’t do a serious approach (well… mostly…) and the slices of events make binge-reading it plausible 😀
I think my preferred focus is on Yoshikawa and Ishikawa though (They are so sweet~~)

  2. Your picture also is of Horimiya, how cute!
    Glad you enjoyed the manga!

As for my picks, I guess Skip Beat, Akatsuki no Yona and Horimiya will be there~
The next one seems like something you’d write about… Also last day sounds interesting…
